Purpose
The purpose of the Temple
Symphony Alliance shall be: to
promote and support the growth of
the Temple Symphony Orchestra and
to offer educational opportunities for
youth and the community to further
develop their appreciation for music.
The TSA cultivates an understanding,
taste and love of symphonic orchestral
productions. It is traditional for
symphony guilds/alliances to conduct
and organize a variety of fund raising
activities in a given year. Marketing
and fund raising are virtually
inseparable as promotional tools to
meet this end.
The Alliance markets the Symphony
every time it reaches out to new
members. We emphasize the
importance of purchasing season
tickets as we reach out to the
community.
The major fund raising activity for
the Alliance is the Taste of the Town.
Contributions Fund The Symphony and Education
The Temple Symphony Orchestra receives approximately three-fourths of all money raised by the TSA. Temple College Music students are recipients of two major scholarships from funds raised by the Alliance. In the past, Temple High School has received funds to further their music programs.
Services We Provide
Prior to concerts the Alliance offers an Informance to provide information to our patrons about the upcoming symphonic production. Area music educators are invited to provide these sessions. The Temple Symphony Alliance is a member of the Texas Association of Symphony Orchestras. Quarterly meetings are held to keep members up-to-date on issues of interest.
